Now that the finals are over; the Washington Capitals will play the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup finals. So, the games will begin on Monday, May 28th. Are you ready for the finals?

First and foremost, the Washington Capitals will make their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals since 1998. Although the Capitals have one of the best players in the NHL in Alex Ovechkin, this will be his first time in the finals.

Because the Capitals have been in the playoffs, 9 out of the last 10 years; is this the year they shed their playoff woes? In addition to having Ovechkin, the Capitals have a strong goaltending tandem in Brandon Holtby and Philip Grubauer. Above all, the Capitals have the number one defensive player in the NHL in John Carlson.

In essence, the Capitals have a lot of talent. With their talent; can this year’s Capitals go the distance?

Vegas Golden Knights

So, the Vegas Golden Knights are playing their first year in the NHL as an expansion team. And, what a surprise this team has been. In fact, this team has set records for the most wins as an expansion team. In addition to having the most wins, they also have had the most points in their first year as an expansion team.

Although the Knights weren’t expected to go far before the season started, all bets are off. Indeed, this team has taken the NHL by surprise. They are the first team to get to the finals in 15 games. Hence, will this expansion team hoist the cup?

Stanley Cup Finals Schedule

So the schedule for the Stanley Cup Finals are:

  • Monday, May 28th – Game 1 will be in Vegas at 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 30th – Game 2 will be in Vegas at 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 2nd – Game 3 will be in Washington at 8:00 p.m.
  • Monday, June 4th – Game 4 will be in Washington at 8:00 p.m.
  • If needed, Thursday, June 7th – Game 5 will be in Vegas at 8:00 p.m.
  • Also if needed, Sunday, June 10th – Game 6 will be in Washington at 8:00 p.m.
  • Finally, if the series goes the distance, Game 7 would be in Vegas on June 13th at 8:00 p.m.
