Hello to all our readers & happy Thanksgiving 2021!
We hope everyone has enjoyed the autumn season and their thanksgiving weekend to the fullest. There are many things We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports is thankful for this year. Speaking of which, we have recently entered into a partnership with a local school and community center to host a basketball program for youth in the NYC neighborhoods.
Thanksgiving 2021 – Autumn to Winter Programming
While we are still working out all of the details and following the vaccine mandates, we are excited to share with you that we are quickly moving from strength and conditioning fall plans to winter workouts and holiday activities. We have a lot in store for you to look forward to this winter. So, stay tuned as we bring you more details on our upcoming winter plans.
Covid -19 Vaccine and Our Youth
While there are different opinions in regards to vaccinations and our youth, We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports has not forgotten about the unvaccinated youth. Hence, we understand the importance of staying safe while providing an outlet for youth who are not able to be vaccinated for one reason or another.
And despite the wide range of benefits certain vaccination protocols come with, we didn’t have the heart to implement programming that would exclude youth who really need healthy sports and mentoring opportunities. This, of course, will be an ongoing decision as science advances and knowledge spreads for parents and young people.
We hope this challenge will soon be eliminated. But know that we will do our best to meet the needs of our most vulnerable youngsters while continuing to follow the safety protocols and guidance from the CDC. Therefore, with our new programming in place, our unvaccinated youth, regardless of the reason, will not feel left out or cut off from training opportunities.
We are glad to have given you a brief update on where we are in the midst of busy and uncertain times. We also haven’t forgotten how much of a blessing this year has been for all of us. Especially during thanksgiving 2021, we did not forget to be thankful for the beautiful and inspiring memories and experiences we have shared with our youth.
One of the most important lessons that Covid-19 has taught us is that life is too short and a blessing. So, be sure to count every one of your blessings this year, no matter how small, and be grateful. Last but not least, remember to stay tuned as we approach our winter & holiday season and jump into new activities we will blog about for December.
