The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. Unfortunately, this game didn’t live up to the hype surrounding it. However, one thing that was familiar to NFL fans was Tom Brady holding up the Vincent Lombardi Trophy.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
When the game started, the Buccaneers went three and out. So, the Chiefs scored first on a field goal. At the same time, who knew that was the only points the Chiefs would continue to put up would be field goals
So, no touchdowns? Yup!
Because the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year; many thought they would go back-to-back. To read more on last year’s game against the 49ers; be sure to visit our Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl post.
Although the Chiefs entered Super Bowl LV as the 3 point favorite; they obviously didn’t come to play. Patrick Mahomes was overpowered by the Buc’s defense. In addition to the Chiefs not being able to score a touchdown; they made mistakes throughout the game that resulted in the Buccaneers putting up points throughout the game.
Half Time Show – The Weeknd
Due to the coronavirus, the half-time performance had a different feel than prior years. Although he had a little bit longer to play his set; the show was watched live primarily by cut-outs.
So, the show was performed on a set design similar to the city of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.
For the final song, Abel Tesfaye moved onto the field.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers First Win Since
The Chiefs had hopes of being the first team since the New England Patriots to win back-to-back Super Bowls. Since the Chiefs’ efforts were overcome by the Buccaneers; does Brady hope to lead his new team to back-to-back championships?
Of course, the Patriots and their fans may have had a hard time watching Brady win; and of course, Brady saying they are coming back in 2021.
NFL fans will have to wait until next season to see how things play out.
