Here we are again! All month long, We W.I.L.L Thru Sports is partnering with Stop N Shop to bring awareness to National Nutrition Month. Because of Stop N Shop, we are providing healthy food choices to our young people during the A.M. Workouts. This donation is much needed so we can provide up to 20 young people every Saturday morning with a healthier food choice to start their day.
We W.I.L.L.’s Take On Nutrition
We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports believes that nutrition is important for overall health and well-being. Eating a balanced diet provides the body with essential vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients necessary for proper growth, development, and functioning. Eating a healthy diet can also help prevent and manage various health conditions, including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancer. Additionally, proper nutrition can help to boost energy levels, improve mood, and promote overall health.
Aligning with our mission, We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports needs to bring awareness to healthy eating because it is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Eating a balanced diet helps to ensure that the body is getting all of the essential nutrients and vitamins it needs to function properly.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, only about one in three adolescents aged 12-19 years meets the recommended dietary guidelines for fruit and vegetable intake. Additionally, only one in five adolescents meet the recommended nutritional guidelines for dairy intake. We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports is taking action and addressing this all month long for our young people and parents.
National Nutrition Month is the perfect time to get started with healthy eating habits. The best way to start and succeed with a healthy diet is to start small and make gradual changes. Start by replacing unhealthy foods with healthier options, such as swapping sugary snacks for fruits and vegetables or swapping processed foods for whole foods. It’s easier said than done.
So remember, it’s also important to plan ahead of time and have healthy meals and snacks ready to go. Additionally, make sure to stay hydrated and get plenty of exercise. Last, but not least, don’t forget to listen to your body and allow yourself to enjoy treats in moderation. We W.I.L.L. Thru Sport wishes everyone a healthy National Nutrition Month.
