National Dog Day 2021 – How Pets Affect Our Youth

Young people who have pets enjoy numerous benefits. They are more likely to develop positive feelings about pets. These pets can contribute to their self-esteem, cognitive development, and social skills. Famous Athletes & Their Pets

We are able to enjoy the company of our pets now more than ever thanks to the various social media platforms. Many of the most popular athletes post up on Instagram and other social sites about the time they spend with their pooches. Through the internet, now we can watch our heroes train, pet, and feed their beautiful puppies and dogs all the time. Additionally, some sportsmen even talk about the time they spend snuggling with their pets. Moreover, they talk about their traveling adventures and even dress them up in cool and adorable styles. National Dog Day 2021 – Points To Ponder

This National Dog Day 2021, there are a few points we need to ponder over.  We must remember that while we get to see adorable stories by athletes, well-known people, or friends and family, there are many animals who need this type of loving home. According to the ASPCA, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats. So, as we read about those fortunate animals who have a loving home, let us also do our part to help our pets like our people. There are many ways we can make sure the less fortunate dogs are cared for, such as:

  • Donations
  • Adoption
  • Advocate (spread the word about why animals need to be loved and cared for.)
  • Seek out potential owners
  • Volunteer at an animal shelter

Since We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports is all about giving back, we hope that this article will touch someone to help even just one animal to be the next heartfelt story we see or hear about. We hope you enjoy National Dog Day 2021 and that all our loyal furry friends have a great day!
