So the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers met in London for a 3:00 p.m. afternoon game (EST). Since there was a lot of excitement surrounding this game; the game didn’t disappoint sports fans.

United Kingdom NBA

First and foremost, the NBA’s first game in London was in 1993. As part of a global initiative; the NBA wants teams to play beyond North American’s borders.

So this was the 8th game in the United Kingdom during the regular season. For the Celtics, it will be their 8th game in Europe. In fact, they have played three games in Italy, 3 games in Madrid and 1 in London prior. The last time they played in London was 10 years ago. At the same time; that was the year they won a championship. Will this be a repeat?

Of course, both teams were excited about the game in London. Not only was this experience about playing in London; but also the overall experience. This game was played in front of a sell-out crowd.

Boston Celtics v Philadelphia 76ers

In the first place, this was the 3rd meeting between the two teams this season. Both teams have won their last 4 games a piece. Boston has Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and many other good players who have led the team to be first in the Eastern Conference.

In addition, Philadelphia is powered by a young core of players. Prior to the game, their record was 19 – 19. At the start of the game; the 76ers came out strong. Although the 76ers were up by 22 in the first half; the Celtics came back strong in the second half.

Arguably, the 76ers are one of the worst third quarter teams and that showed in today’s game.

The Celtics players came together as a strong unit to defeat the 76ers with a score of 114 – 103.
