Once again, We W.I.L.L. thru Sports is excited to participate in the AAU Girls August Basketball Tournament right around the corner. With this in mind, this year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13th.

Amateur Athletic Union

Above all, the Amateur Athletic Union is one of the biggest, non-profit, volunteer sports organizations in the United States. In the first place, the AAU involvement is to promote the development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs for kids.

By the same token, the AAU is important for children to get involved and become a member. A basic membership costs $14.00 a year and runs from September 1st through August 31st.

In the same way, you need to be a member of the AAU in order to participate.  So, if you’re not a member, sign up today.

So, this year’s AAU Girl’s August basketball tournament will be held at Stanley Isaac’s Park, E 97st and 1st Ave in New York, New York. At the same time, this is easy to get to as the location is right off of FDR Drive.

Meanwhile, this year the courts have been improved upon with a facelift. The Park and Recreation upgraded the courts and also changed the rims.

AAU Girls August Basketball Requirements

For the basketball tournament, there are no skills required. So, kids come from all over to participate in this event. Last year, kids came from upstate New York.

As this event becomes more popular, no one minds travelling. We have seen kids come from all over the state. In any case, excitement is building for the AAU Girls August basketball tournament.
