2020 We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports Recap

When the year began, we started out by having tryouts for our travel basketball team – We W.I.L.L. Regulators (see our programs). Although Henry picked the teams; things quickly came to a halt due to the pandemic.

In the early Spring, we had an exciting announcement. To read more about this; be sure to check out our Surprise Wedding Announcement post.

With the challenges Henry faced; he continued to keep in touch with the kids and send out work-out videos for them to try at home. In addition, to things not happening in person; Henry continued to shift many of his programs. To read more on this, be sure to visit our Henry is Facing the Challenges of Youth Sports post.

2020 We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports – Summer and Fall Season

At the same time, things were taking a bad turn in the world due to all the police brutality. Due to Black Lives Matter; it was time for us to have our youth more involved in social justice.

With this being in the news, we had a one-day successful minicamp where Deborah Woods explored the issues of social justice happening. As the kids became more aware of the issues facing the world; they learned what they can do to make a difference.

In addition, we ended the season with our Halo Ball Classic Basketball Tournament.

Since our 10-year celebration was canceled due to the pandemic; we had an online auction. To read more about our online auction; be sure to visit our We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports 10 Year Online Auction post.

We W.I.L.L. Looks Forward to 2021

Of course, we hope to have more in-person activities. At the same time, the vaccine is offering hope for things to return to normal.

A shout out to everyone who donated financially to our organization as well as their time. At the same time, this was especially meaningful to our organization as many of our other funding sources had to scale back.

Moreover, we would like to give a shout-out to Joe Cifone and the New York Post for their contribution and supporting our non-profit organization’s mission.

Additionally, we would like to thank the following for their generosity throughout the 2020 year – Anissa, Aliya, Colleen, Clifford (Chris), Cedric, Deborah, Dianne, Dorota, Janzie, Joseph, Loli, Melanie, Phylis, Sarah, and Tyrese.

Because of the challenges throughout the year; we are eternally grateful to each of you for helping our organization.

When we return to our programs; we look forward to working with the kids.

In summary, we hope everyone visits our Site and Blog posts often to see what new things we have on the horizon.
